REMOUNT: Rich People in Space: An Anti-Capitalist Musical (Bughouse Theater)

We have to go back! Following a successful 2023 debut (and 'Best Of' nomination from The Reader), Jake Dewar is remounting his hilarious, anti-capitalist, full-length original musical Rich People in Space.

I'm ecstatic to be returning to my role as Naomi.

The remount will be presented as a staged reading for a limited, two-night run July 17 & 19th at The Bughouse Theater (1910 W. Irving Park).

Rich People in Space: An Anti-Capitalist Musical explores the façade of workplace culture, resisting vs. complying, and the many ways money can corrupt us all. In the not-too-distant future, as the Earth's resources decline, billionaire Maxwell Pedestal has funded a new project to colonize Mars. Unfortunately, the only ones who can afford to go are the wealthy elite, and a new employee discovers this space station may not be what it seems. The show pays tribute to many musical theater styles, including animated Disney, Les Miserables and Danny Elfman. The result is a dark comedy that balances playful fun with thoughtful satire.

See ya in the stars!
